High hopes for garden


THE sky's the limit for greenfingered tenants.


CAPTION(S):Your Homes Newcastle tenants have renovated green areas at Maytree House in Cruddas Park, including making a rooftop garden.Norman Rutter, 65, treasurer of the Maytree Tenants' Association, who has lived in the block for nine years, said: "The improvements to the green areas started a few years ago when a couple of lads got some seeds and planted some flowers."Since then, more and more tenants have taken an interest in improving the block."Newcastle Lord Mayor Geoff O'Brien dropped in to the 52-flat residential block to unveil a plaque to mark the opening and take a look around the rooftop garden.
